XIV Edition Żywieckie Suwakowanie Trombone Festival in Żywiec!
Below you will find all the necessary information related to this year’s festival. Please acquaint yourself thoroughly with the content, even if you’ve been in attendance in previous years.
REGISTRATION AND WELCOME
Registration for participants will start on Monday, July 22 from 8: 30-9: 45 at M. Kopernika High School.
All participants are required to register before taking part in classes.
During registration you will receive an information packet and your free festival T-shirt!
Classes will begin with a group warm-up for all participants, led by Mr. Maciej Pietraszko at 10:30 at M. Kopernika High School .
Please bring your own instrument and music stand, if you have one.

* FESTIVAL PARTICIPANTS IN CONCERT “YOUNG TALENTS” – Thursday, July 25th
This is a concert for anyone who would like to perform a solo or chamber piece. It is designed to develop positive “performance practice.” We encourage everyone to take part! All music selections will be welcome! Please Note: Any music needed for accompaniment must be provided by the participants.
* WORKSHOPS – all workshops are intended for all participants and anyone can take part in them, regardless of their level or experience. We strongly encourage you to take an active interest in all the workshops provided.
* INDIVIDUAL LESSONS – one to one lessons will be available with our featured artists and esteemed educators from music schools and universities throughout Poland. A list of available teachers and a detailed timetable will be established during the festival. Please Note: The lesson schedule must be rigorously observed, in order for all participants to take advantage of private lessons.
*JAM SESSION – an evening of improvisation and jazz will be led by Peter Malton from the Dixieland Society, Sweden. We invite everyone to participate!
* GALA and FINAL CONCERT – two concerts will be given by the full Trombone Festival Orchestra. All participants, special guests, and lecturers of the festival will be in participation!
*FAREWELL CAMPFIRE – Free final event for all participants of the Festival, offering local specialties. Parents and guardians are welcome to join for a fee of 20 PLN /per person.
Space in the dormitory is allocated according to the order of applications, including the payment of the entry fee. Those who have applied and paid in a timely fashion will have priority and will be placed in order of who applied AND paid the entry fee before the deadline for applications. You will receive information regarding the allocation of your place in the dormitory via email.
The price for accommodation in the dormitory is 20 PLN per night, plus a one-time fee of 5 PLN for bed linens.
Accommodation of participants in the dormitory will be available on Sunday, July 21 at 17:00 and will be continued on Monday, July 22, at 7:30 in the morning.
!!! ATTENTION !!! IMPORTANT !!! The dormitory is located at the Mechanical and Electrical School (NOT M. Kopernika High School, where classes will be held). After arriving in Żywiec, please go to the dormitory.

Additional accommodation: The organizers will have information on additional options for accommodation in Żywiec. All information will be available upon arrival from Mrs. Lidia Pietraszko.
The accommodation fee will be charged in advance, in cash. Only Mrs. Lidia Pietraszko, or a person appointed by her, is authorized by the organizers to charge for accommodation. The contact phone number for Mrs. Lidia is *48-600-970-612.
PARTICIPANTS UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE
ATTENTION! Participants who will not be 18 or older before September 22, 2019 are required to complete a Responsibility Card. If you still have not sent your Responsibility Card, you must do so as soon as possible – it is best to scan it and send it to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Your Responsibility Card must be completed and sent to the organizers before you come to Żywiec.
MEALS – Participants are responsible for their own meals! Upon arrival in Żywiec, you will receive information from the organizers about which local establishments offer discounts for participants.
MUSIC – Music will be sent to you via email in PDF format.
PLEASE PREPARE THE MUSIC TO THE BEST OF YOUR ABILITY, PRINT IT, AND BRING IT TO ŻYWIEC!!
If you do not receive any music by July 10th via the e-mail address you provided in the application, check your SPAM folder. If it is not in SPAM, please contact the organizers by writing to: email@example.com .
VOLUNTEERS – During the festival we rely on the help of volunteers. They will be available to assist you starting Sunday, July 21 at 17:00. They will be in the dorms throughout the night, and will be available the following morning, Monday, July 22 from 7:30 am. *Please direct questions to the volunteers regarding getting around Żywiec, finding accommodations, rehearsal spaces, workshops and concert locations. You will be able to recognize the volunteers by their festival T-shirts.
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO ŻYWIEC
1. Concert Attire: Gentlemen- pants + shirt (jacket/tie optional), Ladies – pants/skirt + blouse or dress
2. Music Stand – Important! If you have a folding music stand, Please bring it with you.
3. Your Instrument ☺
4. A great attitude, love for music, and enthusiasm for hard work!
!!! Please remember that we will also play some concerts in our festival T-shirts, these will be distributed during registration on Monday, July 22 from 8: 30-9: 45!!!
